Montejo

MADE BY:Montejo

Description:

On January 19, 1900, Jose Ponce Solis established Cerveceria Yucateca, S.A. in Merida, Yucatan with the ambition to create authentic Mexican beer. The first beers sold by this proud brewery were packaged in jars and distributed by horse-drawn cart. Montejo was named for the founding father of the city of Merida, Yucatan: Don Francisco de Montejo. Montejo was originally brewed exclusively with European malt and hops, and was actually born as a dark Vienna Lager before it became a Czech Pilsner.
